It runs in a north-south direction and crosses Esker Drive, Leixlip Road, Lucan Road, Main Street, Adams Town Court, The Hollows, Vesey Park, Hillcrest Road, Westbury Avenue, Old Esker Lane, Tandy's Lane and Somerton Green. It ends in a cul-de-sac and connects Lucan and Pettycanon, Ballymakaily, Adamstown, Finnstown, Esker South and Grange. Adamstown Road is also known as Newcastle Road.
