Twizel Omarama Road in Waitaki District is a two-lane, asphalted main road (100 km/h). It runs in a northeast-southwest direction and crosses McAughtries Road, Wairepo Arm Back Road, Lake Ohau Road, Quailburn Road, Ben Omar Road, Prohibition Road, Ahuriri Heights and Airport Road and ends at Omarama Avenue, while the other end is a cul-de-sac. This road is part of the bicycle routes Alps to Ocean Cycle Trail and Apls 2 Ocean Alternate Flood Route and the long-distance road "8" and the hiking trail "TA08f - Tekapo to Lake Ōhau".
