It runs in a southeast-northwest direction starting from Cimla Road and crosses Crynallt Road, The Hollins, Trevallen Avenue, Afan Valley Close, Osprey Drive, Heol Pen Y Coed, Ridgewood Gardens, Ton-Mawr Road and Glan-Pelenna and ends at Main Road. It connects Neath and Pelenna. In the vicinity, there is among other things a pub. Afan Valley Road also exists in Cwmavon, Port Talbot and Cymer and Glyncorrwg.
