It runs in an east-west direction starting from Main Street Road and crosses Highland Acres Road, South 29th Street, Valley View Road, North 25th Street, North 19th Street, North 17th Street, North 16th Street, South 16th Street, South 14th Street, North 14th Street and North 13th Street. It connects Marshalltown and Marietta Township. West Main Street is also known as County Highway E35. This street is part of the highway "E35" as well as the Hiking trail "ADT - Iowa - K - Seg 4". West Main Street also exists in Le Grand Township.
