It runs in a north-south direction and crosses 110th Street, 115th Street, 120th Street, 130th Street, 140th Street, State Highway 9, 160th Street, 170th Street, 180th Street, 190th Street, 195th Street and 200th Street. It ends in a cul-de-sac. Monroe Avenue is also known as County Highway A16. Monroe Avenue also exists in Harrison County, Lyon County, O'Brien County, Monroe County and Muscatine County.
