It runs in a north-south direction starting from North Lafayette Street and crosses East Lake Street, West Lake Street, East Liberty Street, West Liberty Street, Elm Place, East McHattie Street, West McHattie Street, Reynold Sweet Parkway, South Lyon Woods Drive and Dorothy Street and ends at Pontiac Trail. South Lafayette Street is also known as Pontiac Trail. This street is part of the highway "Pontiac Trail". Nearby there is a beverage store. South Lafayette Street also exists in Montcalm County.
