It runs in an east-west direction and crosses Main Street, Westside Mobile Court, Railroad Avenue North, 1st Avenue North, 1st Avenue South, 2nd Avenue North, 3rd Avenue North, 4th Avenue, 5th Avenue North, 6th Avenue North, 7th Avenue North and 8th Avenue North. It ends in a cul-de-sac. 1st Street North is also known as 97.5 Street Southeast. This street is part of the highway "11". 1st Street North also exists in Van Meter Township.
