It runs in a southeast-northwest direction and crosses Burton Avenue, Bourke Street Offramp, Carlsruhe Station Road, Calder Freeway Onramp, Calder Freeway Offramp, Kirks Road, Black Forest Drive Offramp, Mount Macedon Road Offramp, Station Road Offramp, Melbourne Road Offramp, Wards Lane and Farmer Lane. It ends in a cul-de-sac and connects Kyneton, Macedon, Gisborne, Carlsruhe, Woodend and New Gisborne. This road is part of the long-distance roads M79 and Calder Highway.
