Howqua Track in Merrijig

Howqua Track in Shire of Mansfield is an unpaved minor road. It runs in a southeast-northwest direction starting from Mount Buller Road and crosses Lovick Lane, Wild Dog Road, Long Spur Track, Wild Dog 4WD (Davies) Track, Three Chain Track, Old Howqua Track, Spring Street and Doughty Road and ends at Brocks Road. It connects Howqua Hills and Merrijig.

Campsite

Buttercup Two Camping Area. Light a fire in the designated fire pits and enjoy the sound of the water tumbling through Buttercup Creek. The surrounding Peppermint, Swamp Gum, Candlebark, Manna Gum and Stringybark provided nicely shaded camping spots. This is a small campground so – approx. 6,0 km.
Buttercup Three Camping Area. Light a fire in the designated fire pits and sit back to listen to the sound of the water tumbling through Buttercup Creek. The surrounding Peppermint, Swamp Gum, Candlebark, Manna Gum and Stringybark provided nicely shaded camping spots. This is a smal – approx. 7,7 km.
Buttercup Four Camping Area. The tumbling water in Buttercup Creek provides a peaceful background when camping at this site. The surrounding Peppermint, Swamp Gum, Candlebark, Manna Gum and Stringybark provided nicely shaded camping spots. This is a small campground so you will enj – approx. 7,9 km.
Tomahawk Hut. This site is magnificent and rich in history,Originally being built as a base for road building crews. You are able to utilise to Hut for your camping needs and the road is 2WD accessible what more could you want. – approx. 14,5 km.
Evans Creek Hut. Remote, basic bush hut situated on the Evans Creek. – approx. 15,5 km.
