Mould Bay

Mould Bay is located on Prince Patrick Island in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago and is mapped as an administrative level 8 subdivision within the Inuvialuit Settlement Region. Prince Patrick Island lies north of Banks Island and is part of the Northwest Territories. The site is associated with the former Mould Bay weather station, which operated in the high Arctic and recorded meteorological conditions in one of Canada’s most remote settled locations.

The surrounding landscape consists of treeless Arctic terrain, low coastal plains, and permanently cold conditions north of the Arctic Circle. Mould Bay has no permanent urban population comparable to Inuvik, Tuktoyaktuk, or Aklavik; its significance in regional mapping comes from its geographic position on Prince Patrick Island and its former scientific and weather-monitoring facilities.
