It runs in a northeast-southwest direction starting from Brook Street and crosses Bridge Row, Mill Street, Queen Street, Tommys Lane, King Street, Vicarage Avenue, Buxton Old Road, St. Johns Road, Havannah Lane, Tall Ash Avenue and Hillside View. It connects Congleton, Wincle, Bosley, North Rode, Macclesfield Forest and Wildboarclough and Sutton. This road is part of the long-distance road "A54". Buxton Road also exists in Macclesfield and Disley.
