It runs in an east-west direction starting from Sparrow Hill and crosses Meadow Lane, Barrack Row, Cradock Street, The Coneries, Cotes Yard, Bromhead Street, Queen's Road, Clarence Street, Mill Lane, Whitegate and Morley Street. It connects Cotes and Charnwood. This road is part of the long-distance road "A60". Nottingham Road also exists in Burton on the Wolds and Walton on the Wolds.
