It runs in a north-south direction starting from Weigh Station Access Road and crosses County Road 3G, 7th Street, 5th Street, 4th Street and Smokey Trail Drive and ends at Main Street. It connects Lincoln County and Limon. 1st Avenue is also known as County Road 21. This street is part of the highway "71". 1st Avenue also exists in Longmont, Routt County, Elbert County, Broomfield and Rio Grande County.
