It connects Fort Oglethorpe and Catoosa County. This street is part of the highways 27, 1, US 27 (GRIP corridor), Dixie Highway from Chattanooga to Cartersville via Dalton (1919) and Dixie Highway from Chattanooga to Cartersville via Rome (1919). Lafayette Road also exists in Whitfield County and Chattahoochee County.
