It runs in a northeast-southwest direction starting from Main Street and crosses School Street, Stone Hill Road, Thing's Corner Road, Pendexter Way, Foss Road, Johnson Road and Range E Road. Elm Street is also known as State Route 11. This street is part of the highway "11". Elm Street also exists in North Berwick, Sanford, Newfield, Parsonsfield and Shapleigh.
