Sanford Road in Wells is a two-lane, asphalted expressway (also known as State Route 9). It runs in a southeast-northwest direction and crosses Hubbard Lane, Homestead Drive, North Berwick Road, Garden Street, Nella Street, Branch Road, Crediford Road, Lindsey Road, Atkins Lane, Sawyer Road, Bragdon Road and Meeting House Road. It ends in a cul-de-sac. Sanford Road is also known as State Route 9. This street is part of the Bicycle routes 1 (Maine), East Coast Greenway (ME) and Eastern Trail Section 3 as well as the highways 9 and 109. Nearby there is among others a place of worship.
