It runs in a northeast-southwest direction starting from North German Street and crosses North Minnesota Street, North Broadway, North State Street, North Washington Street, North Franklin Street, North Jefferson Street, North Payne Street, North Garden Street, Linden Street and West Street and ends at North Highland Avenue. 5th North Street is also known as 5th Street North.
