It runs in a north-south direction starting from La Rue Avenue and crosses Nashwauk Campground road, Parkview Mobile Home Court, Hawkins Avenue, Central Avenue, Deering Avenue, Pearson Avenue, Platts Avenue, Roberts Avenue, York Avenue and Fern Avenue. This street is part of the Bicycle route "Mesabi Trail" as well as the Hiking trail "North Country National Scenic Trail (MN)". 2nd Street also exists in Keewatin, Bovey, Bigfork and Greenway Township.
