It runs in a north-south direction and crosses 38th Street Southeast, 39th Street Southeast, 40th Street Southeast, 41st Street Southeast and 43rd Street Southeast and ends at 44th Street Southeast, while the other end is a cul-de-sac. It connects Newbury Township and Saint Paul Township. 51st Avenue Southeast also exists in Streeter Township, Peterson Township, Chase Lake Township, Gerber Township and Lowery Township.
