It runs in a north-south direction starting from East Euclid Street and crosses Euclid Street, Harriot Street, East Chapin Avenue, Irving Avenue, Alma Street, East Alma Street, Threadneedle Street, East Threadneedle Street, East Elgie Street, Elgie Street and Church Street. It connects Beaumont and Jefferson County. Highland Avenue also exists in Corpus Christi, Hidalgo County and Abilene.
