It runs in a northeast-southwest direction starting from 2nd Street and crosses Cherry Street, Sycamore Street, Clay Street, Washington Street, George Street, Lafayette Street, Creel Street, Court Lane, Oil Refinery, Bridge Street and Carpenter Bridge. It connects St. Marys and Pleasants County. This street is part of the highway "2". 3rd Street also exists in Weirton, Jefferson County, Hampshire County, Preston County and Harrison County.
