Highway 17 in Thessalon is a three-lane, asphalted expressway (90 km/h). The road has no sidewalks. It runs in an east-west direction starting from Lakeside Drive and crosses Government Road, Albert Street, Edward Street, Highway 129 and Sydney Street and ends at Boundary Road. This road is part of the long-distance roads 17 and Trans Canada Highway (ON) (Hwy 17, North Bay to Lake Helen). In the vicinity, there is a café. Highway 17 also exists in Blind River, Spanish, Plummer Additional Township, Huron Shores and The North Shore Township.
