It runs in a north-south direction and crosses 100th Street, 110th Street, 120th Street, 130th Street, 140th Street, State Highway 9, 160th Street, 170th Street, 180th Street, 190th Street, 200th Street and 210th Street. It ends in a cul-de-sac and connects Osceola County and Ashton. Nettle Avenue is also known as County Highway L32. Nettle Avenue also exists in O'Brien County, Muscatine County, Cerro Gordo County, Franklin County and Hancock County.
